09/ 01/ 05 PRIME OUTLETS—WILLIAMSBURG SELECTS WINNER OF THE “UDDERLY FASHION-A-BULL” COWPARADE DESIGN CONTEST

WILLIAMSBURG, VA, AUGUST 31, 2005 -- Prime Retail, Inc. has awarded Chris Alexander, the commission to create the newest Prime Outlets’ CowParade cow. Her winning design “Moo-lyn Monroe” will feature red, white and black mosaic tiles and mirror pieces, as well as a fiberglass skirt. Alexander’s design, with its sparkles and mosaic tile medium, will be a fitting complement to the other fashion-themed cows of the Prime Outlets CowParade at Prime Outlets-Williamsburg. The public is invited to see this Udderly Fashion-A-Bull art exhibit, which opens Sept.1. Moo-lyn Monroe will join the rest of the herd in October.

“Each of the cows in the Prime Outlets CowParade makes a unique fashion statement,” said Lisa Bates, CMD, marketing manager, Prime Outlets-Williamsburg. “The ‘Moo-lyn Monroe cow,’ with its retro style, glamour, timeless fashion and unique materials used, really brings a new and interesting element to the CowParade. We would like to thank Chris, as well as all the other local artists who submitted a design for consideration, including Monica Sigmon, Rosemarie Kammer, Nancy Sheeheen and Melanie Hartman, for their hard work."

Alexander will receive $1,000 upon completing the cow. She is known as the “Mermaid Lady” from her design work for Mermaids on Parade, a city of Norfolk public art event. She currently runs her own business Coastal Art, Inc., which sells collectibles and designs from the Chris Alexander Collection of outdoor art projects including those of: Go Fish in Richmond, Winged Horse Extravaganza on the Outer Banks, DOGNY in New York City and Mermaids on Parade in Norfolk. Alexander lives and works in Suffolk, VA.

This CowParade exhibit at Prime Outlets—Williamsburg will be the most recent incarnation of a wildly successful public art exhibition that began in Zurich, Switzerland in 1998, designed to celebrate the spirit of fun, art and community. Some well-known CowParade exhibits in key cities include the 1999 CowParade in Chicago, which was the first held in the United States, and also the 2000 CowParade in New York City.

Prime Outlets—Williamsburg is located at 5715 Richmond Road in Williamsburg, Virginia. The 336,000-square-foot outlet center offers everyday savings of 30-70 percent off full retail prices and features an exciting collection of brand name retailers including: COACH, Nine West, Brooks Brothers, Nike, Anne Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, OshKosh B’Gosh, Kirkland’s Home and BOSE.
